Quiet Night

All is calm, all is black

Here I lay on my back

No one round and no sound

This silent night with nothing bright

Here I lie, still in time

Betray, my lips, the quietness

Comfort found here on the ground

True happy where none can see me

Quiet night, aren’t you scared out here

Slipping in blackness where most don’t dare

Oh those stars in the sky keep shining down

But their light doesn’t reach us here on the ground

The softness of darkness

Wraps its arms ‘round my chest

Like velvet it once felt

If it let my hand out

But the truth, it has no touch

Its just light, the lack of such

Quiet night, aren’t you scared out here

Slipping in blackness where most don’t dare

Oh those stars in the sky keep shining down

But their light doesn’t reach us here on the ground

And isn’t that the way of us

Seeking comfort in emptiness

Party hard and collect all the stuff

But we know it will never be enough

Its just light, the lack of enough

Such is truth and darkness

If comfort you are seeking

Trap the starlight on the ground

For its impossible in darkness

And this quietness

Quiet night, aren’t you scared out here

Sleep in darkness where all’s laid bare

Oh those stars in the sky keep shining down

But their light doesn’t reach us here on the ground
